Household Hazardous Waste Facility

South Utah Valley Solid Waste District accepts a wide variety of hazardous chemicals, paints, and automotive products in household quantities. There is no extra charge to drop off household hazardous waste by itself!

Residential Only

This service is strictly extended to residential households within the boundaries of the District, and all Utah County Residents. Because this is an included service for residents and floor space is strictly limited, we cannot allow customers to pay to drop off extra chemicals.

BUSINESS WASTE IS NOT ACCEPTED

Quantity Limits

Waste is accepted in containers no larger than 5 gallons.

  • Max 5 gallons of any one item per visit.
  • Containers must be 5 gallons or smaller.

Electronic Waste

We accept household e-waste under the EPA's household exemption. Limits: 3 screen items and 6 non-screen items.

Paper Shredding

Need to securely dispose of sensitive documents? We offer paper shredding services at no additional cost.

Safe Battery Disposal

Non-rechargeable AA and AAA batteries can be disposed of with regular trash. Hazardous batteries that must be kept separate and disposed of properly:

  • Lithium ion batteries (usable or dead)
  • Lead acid (car batteries)
  • Button cell batteries (watches)
  • ANY rechargeable batteries
Bring them to the transfer station for safe disposal.
