HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DROP OFF

South Utah Valley Solid Waste’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility, located at the Transfer Station in Springville Utah, accepts, paint, varnish, pesticides, lawn care products, aerosols, paint thinner, antifreeze, motor oil, diesel, gasoline, cleaning items, automotive products, rechargeable and lead acid batteries, etc. in household quantities. There is no charge for drop off of household hazardous waste. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is located at the Transfer Station and open during regular operating hours, Monday through Saturday. For additional information call (801) 489-3027.


HOUSEHOLD ELECTRONIC WASTE DISPOSAL

Electronic waste (e-waste) consists of consumer electronic equipment that is no longer wanted or usable. In addition to older computer monitors and televisions, e-waste also includes, flat screen computer monitors and televisions, computers, printers, DVD players, VCRs, cell phones, fax machines, stereos, microwaves and electronic games.

Due to the potential for all e-waste to be classified as a hazardous waste, South Utah Valley Solid Waste District will accept household quantities of e-waste (6 or less of any one type of item) and Household Hazardous Waste, under the EPA’s household exemption.


REQUIREMENTS

  • This service is extended ONLY to residential households within the boundaries of the District, and all Utah County Residents.
  • Household hazardous waste is accepted in containers no larger than 5 gallons.  No more than  5 gallons of any one item may be dropped off for disposal, per visit.
  • There is no charge to drop off household hazardous waste by it’s self.
  • Business waste is NOT accepted at the household hazardous waste facility.
